Protest againt Chinese Aggression in Houston

20 January 2008

Chinese aggression in the South China Sea as seen through its illegal invasion and occupation in whole or in part of Vietnam's Paracel and Spratly islands was told to stop by Vietnamese Americans in Houston, Texas who gathered before the Chinese Consulate yesterday. The protest was organized by Vietnamese American students in the Houston area and received the participation of over 200 protesters. The rally in Houston was only one of many that took place all around the world, from Vietnam, to Europe to the United States. The Houston protest, however, is not the last to be seen. Many more are scheduled as Vietnamese around the world galvanize their effort to resist China's hegemonic ambitions in South East Asia and to defend Vietnam's territorial integrity.
